What can you try for free?

Four complete songs, no card required, and no trial you have to remember to cancel.

You don't have to pay to get started. Open the app, write down what you want to say to someone, and watch your words turn into a song. That way you find out whether the thing is any good without spending a dime.

Say it's a Tuesday and you're just curious. You can sit down, type a few honest lines about your dad, and hear them come back as an actual song, without ever handing over a card number. If it moves you, you keep going. If it doesn't, you've spent ten minutes and nothing else.

One thing worth spelling out: those 4 songs are complete songs, not 30- or 60-second previews. Whether the chorus lifts, whether the vocal holds on the high notes — you only know from hearing the whole thing, so that's what you get.

There's also a referral reward: when someone you invite finishes their first song, you both get 6 more. Those never expire and don't count against any monthly quota.

What's the paid part?

The paid part is a membership, and there are only two tiers.

Plus is $74.99 a year for 30 songs a month; paid monthly it's $8.99. Pro is $149.99 a year for 120 songs a month; paid monthly it's $17.99.

Annual billing saves about 30% over monthly.

The only difference between tiers is how many songs you get each month. There are no members-only features: creating, editing lyrics, saving, and sharing all work the same on the free tier. If you run out, members can buy a top-up pack — $35 for 5,000 credits, roughly 100 more songs, and those never expire.

Three things we don't charge for

These three are common up-charges in this category. We don't do them.

Lyric edits are free. Change one line, give overall notes, rewrite from scratch — unlimited, on the free tier too. Only generating music uses credits. The lyrics are the one part of this gift that's genuinely your words; billing per edit never made sense to us.

Failed generations don't count. If a song fails to generate, you're not charged for it.

Unused songs don't vanish. On paid plans, what you don't use rolls over to the next month, so a quiet month isn't a wasted one.

How does the cost compare to other gifts?

Worth stepping back for a second. A song gift isn't the only way to spend money on someone you love. A nice greeting card with something tucked inside isn't free either, and it's usually gone from memory in a day. People spend real money on flowers that wilt by the weekend, or a gift card that ends up forgotten in a drawer.
